Fico Sports Hub is proud to introduce a new concept of playing football with a big
splash, literally.
Water football, as we call the new sport, is played in ankle-deep
water on an inflatable football court. The two water soccer courts at Fico, which
were specially imported from overseas, are the first of their kind to be introduced
here in Singapore.
Each water football court can hold up to about 14 people (or
7-a-side) at any time, and would be an ideal addition to any family day event because
of its wide appeal and suitability for players of all ages.
And before the avid
football players start shaking their heads and protest that this is neither real
football nor a true sport, but merely just a kid’s water playground game, we’d like
to present our side of the argument.
Firstly, the new playing surface would provide
a fresh challenge to players in terms of the water resistance present. Honestly,
it isn’t that easy kicking a ball in water with power as it looks. And of course,
one would also have to overcome the challenge of a slippery surface, and no matter
how skilful he usually is with the ball on ground, he would most likely end up with
a wet bottom now!
Fico’s new water football facilities definitely promise lots of
fun for its players, regardless of age and gender. With searing hot temperatures
all-year-round in Singapore, the water will also provide relief from the heat for
the players.
For those who are already big fans of the Beautiful Game, our new twist
to the sport will only serve to enhance the overall enjoyment of the game. And for
those who still aren’t exactly into football yet, do try our new version of the
sport now! We promise you’ll enjoy the experience thoroughly. |
